A hybrid guitar and MIDI mixer, designed by AI

The interesting boards sit between analog and digital. This one takes a high-Z guitar jack and an I2S DAC, sums them on an analog mix bus, and drives headphones — MIDI in so the firmware can play along. Mid-rail analog is AC-coupled into the amp so the jack stays quiet.

What ends up on the board

  • USB-C power, 3.3 V rail, ESP32 and programming header
  • High-Z instrument preamp
  • I2S stereo DAC for the digital voice
  • AC-coupled analog mixer summing both into one bus
  • Headphone amp (AC-coupled) and MIDI TRS input

How Ohmni designs it

  1. Analog and digital voices are mixed in hardware, not in a codec — the mixer block AC-couples anything you throw at it.
  2. The headphone amp is marked AC-coupled because the mix bus sits at mid-rail.
  3. You download gerbers, a BOM, and a 3D preview, ready for your fab.
